PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery which can reconcile high discharge capacity and charge-discharge cycle stability and is excellent in high capacity and cycle stability by containing pyrolidone or a pyrolidone derivative in nonaqueous electrolyte in a secondary battery comprising a positive electrode and a negative electrode containing a material capable of reversibly storing-releasing lithium, nonaqueous electrolyte containing lithium salt and a separator. SOLUTION: Pyrolidone, N-methyl pyrolidone, N-ethyl pyrolidone, N-isopropyl or the like are cited as a specific compound used in electrolyte. Pyrolidone or a pyrolidone derivative contained in the electrolyte is preferable to be used in a range of 0.1 volume % to 10 volume % to the electrolyte. When it is less than 0.1 volume %, a cycle stabilizing effect reduces, and when it exceeds 10 volume %, there is a disadvantage that discharge capacity reduces. A more preferable adding quantity of pyrolidone or a pyrolidone derivative is 0.2 to 8 volume %, and 0.3 to 7 volume % is particularly preferable. |
