PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the processing time by obtaining a parallax between images obtained by means of each image pickup system through the use of values such as a position of each image pickup system of the image pickup device having a plurality of the image pickup systems, its direction, and a focal distance and storing altogether the obtained parallax and the image picked up by the image pickup systems so as to extract corresponding points thereby improving the resulting parallax detection accuracy. SOLUTION: After application of power, a left side image pickup system 101 and a right side image pickup system 102 are initialized and set to a prescribed position, a release button is depressed and a photometry means 107 measures lightness of an object to decide an aperture and a shutter speed. A focus detection means 108 detects the focus of the left side image pickup system 101 and the right side image pickup system 102 so as to allow them to adjust the focus to an object via a system controller 106. The left side image pickup signal and the right side image pickup signal converted respectively into digital signals by A/D converter means 103, 104 are stored respectively in 1st and 2nd process memories 109, 111 and a corresponding point extract means 112 conducts extraction processing. |
