PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the increasing/decreasing of signal processing ability according to the number of circuits and to enable the using of a signal processing part smaller in processing ability than a conventional one by proportionally disposing the signal processing part for each circuit countermeasure part in an ATM exchanger having the circuit countermeasure part, a signal processing part and a call control protocol processing part. SOLUTION: In the ATM exchanger composed of the circuit countermeasure part 1, an exchanger control part 2 and a switch part 3, the circuit countermeasure part 1 is provided with a speech path 11, a signal processing part 12 and a circuit- countermeasure-part control part 13. The speech path 11 performs the extracting and inserting of a signal cell as well as transferring a user cell. The signal processing part 12 performs ATM adaptation layer processing. The circuit-countermeasure-part control part 13 performs the communication between the circuit countermeasure part 1 and the exchanger control part 2, and performs the setting and the cancel of the condition of the speech path 11 based on the direction from an exchanger management part 21. Thus, the processing ability of the signal processing part 12 can be increased/ decreased proportionally to the number of circuits, and the cost of the signal processing part 12 is optimized. |
