PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain processed jellyfish that is easy to dry and is useful for collection of gelatin and for food products by treating the jellyfish with an extract of golden balsam with alcohol. SOLUTION: Ten - a hundred parts by weight of jellyfish is uniformly sprayed with 1 pt.wt. of an extract of golden balsam (Impatiens balsamina) in alcohol and they are allowed to stand in a tightly closed vessel for 1-2 days. The resultant processed jellyfish is readily dehydrated to reduce its water content and can be dried in a short time. Any kinds of jellyfish can be treated without rotting and toxic jellyfish is detoxicated. |
