摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate the rated point of a generator at the best fuel consumption point, by detecting the number of revolution of the generator, and suppressing the maximum field current at the intermediate frequency. SOLUTION: In a three-phase AC generator 7 mounted on a hybrid-type electric automobile, a full-wave rectifier circuit 14 and an automatic voltage regulator 15 are provided, and the generated power is supplied to a driving motor. At the same time, the excessive power is used for charging a battery. This automatic voltage regulator 15 has a comparator 23, which compares the output of a field-current detector 20 and the output of a maximum-field- current operating circuit 22 for outputting the maximum field current at the number of revolution sensed by a generator-revolution detector 21, and a comparator 24 which compares the generated voltage and a target voltage. Then, the outputs of both comparators 23 and 24 are inputted into an AND circuit 26. A transistor 25 is turned on only when the field current is less than the maximum field current at that number of revolution and the generated voltage is less than the target voltage. Thus, the engine is operated at the best fuel consumption point, and the engine can be made compact.
