PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the discharge voltage decrease of an lead-acid battery, and suppress the deterioration of life characteristics resulting from the corrosion of grid body ribs by enhancing the collecting performance of the grid body ribs without increasing grid body mass. SOLUTION: The ratio S/M of the apparent surface area S (mm<2> ) of grid body 1 ribs 3 as a collector and the total weight M (g) of the ribs 3 is set to 4 or more and 6 or less. The maximum value L of distance between the peripheral ribs 3 or a frame 2 in one unit active material filling portion 6 formed of the mutual ribs 3 or the ribs 3 and the frame 2 and active material 5 in the center in the active material filling portion 6 is set to 4mm or less. |
