<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent lead-out terminals of an active matrix substrate from short-circuiting in the process for manufacture. SOLUTION: The matrix substrate 9 has scanning lines 1 and signal lines 2 provided in a lattice shape on an insulating substrate, switching elements 5 which are provided nearby the intersections of both the lines 1 and 2, a flattening insulating film which covers the entire surface of the insulating substrate that becomes uneven because of the switching elements 5, etc., so as to flatten the surface, and pixel electrodes 4 which are provided in matrix on the flattening insulating film. In the isolation area between adjacent lead-out terminals 26 and 27 of the lines 1 and 2, the same insulating film 23a as the flattening insulating film is provided right above the insulating substrate.</p> |
