PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new strain that is composed Mucor racemosus sp. having sufficient antagonism to pathogenic microbes of Rhisoctonia sp. which affect such plant as turf, does not destroy the ecological system because of no use of agrochemicals, and is useful as a microbial resource and for control of phytopathogenic microbes and for compost. SOLUTION: This type of new strains of Mucor rasemosus NSB-59 (FERM P-15938) and Trichoderma loningi NSA-47 (FERM P-15937), which have sufficient antagonism to phytopathogenic microbes of Rhizoctonia sp. such as Rhizoctonia solani, which affect such plant as turf, is obtained by selecting the strain having antagonism to Rhizoctonia solani, which is a pathogenic microbe of brawn patch and large patch diseases by means of an antagonism test on pathogenic microbes by a confronting method. The type of strains does not destroy nor deteriorate the ecological system and natural environments because of no use of chemical agents such as agrochemicals, and is useful as a microbial resource and for control of phytopathogenic microbes and for compost. |
