Animal food is mixed and delivered in a horizontal rotating drum (1). Food for mixing is introduced through an opening (31) in one end of the drum and agitated by mixers inside it. The food is removed via an opening (41) at the opposite end of the drum as it rotates. This opening can be opened or closed. Mixing takes place in a horizontal rotating drum (1), mounted on a cradle (10). Two or more horizontal shafts (5) are also mounted on the cradle which carry rollers (52) which support the drum and cogs (53). One or more of the shafts is powered and rotates the drum. The drum itself is open at both ends, with both ends being covered by end plates (3 and 4), fixed to the cradle, each of which has an opening (31 and 41) for food to enter and leave. The inlet opening (31) has a funnel to help guide food. The outlet opening (41) has a pivoting door (44) which opens inwards so that when it is opened and the drum continues to rotate the door diverts food outwards.
