The squeeze control for a sponge comprises a force amplification system. The stops (7,10) as well as the cover (2) are moulded directly onto the control cable. The movable cover has a smooth and rounded stop (8). The connections and the cover are moulded in anti-friction loaded plastics. The fixed end stop (12) has a rounded passage for the control cable.
