Telescopic tensioner clamp for use as e.g. door fitting aid

The clamp is fitted to the top edge of e.g. a door and has a vertical telescopic section (1) inside which a spring loaded drive pushes the upper end (21) to grip the inside of the fitting aperture. The operator is able to hold the door with one hand while using the other hand to check the spirit level. A ratchet grip secures the clamp in a variety of settings using a number of holes in the outer mounting. The ratchet holds the retracted clamp while the door is offered into the aperture. The ratchet is released to clamp the door in position. The top of the clamp is fitted with a roller (21) to allow fine adjustment.
