Each chopstick consists of three parts (12-14), at least one part having a locking device (151,152). The chopstick may have a constant or a reducing, rectangular cross-section, extending from a first end section (16) to a second end section (17). The three parts of the chopstick are joined to each other by articulated joints (18). In an extended position they are connected to one another by locking devices (151,152) so as to prevent folding during eating. This locking arrangement can e.g. be formed by a loop (151) that snap-engages over a projection (152).
