New glass-containing nickel-copper-zinc soft ferrite

A novel Ni-Cu-Zn soft ferrite material for making inductors consists of a starting material of 49.0-50.0 mol% Fe2O3, 5-13 mol% CuO, 7.5-25 mol% NiO and 12-38.5 mol% ZnO and additionally contains 0.05-15.0 wt.% B2O3-Bi2O3-ZnO glass. Also claimed are (i) a process for producing a wire coil inductor from the above starting material and glass, preferably employing a binder containing PVA or methyl cellulose as main component; and (ii) a process for producing a chip inductor from the above starting material and glass, preferably employing a binder mixture of PVB and mannitol.
