Press tool for manufacture of ceramic hollow bodies for HV insulators

A press tool for making ceramic hollow bodies with undercut profiling in an "isostat", made from a ceramic material or a ceramic spray grain-material with a rigid outer container and a flexible shape incorporating the material to be pressed has the outer container built up from divisible moulding rings. In their middle is located a support tube (8) surrounded with an elastic sleeve (9), acting as a sieve. The rings in the guise of a jacketed pipe consist of two half shells on whose inner surfaces moulded segments (2 to 4) are fixed for the outer shape of the workpiece. For undercut shapes of the workpiece, undercut segments are anchored to these moulded segments, whereby the material to be compressed between the elastic sleeve and the moulded segments can be poured in using a funnel (14).
