The coupling comprises a socket part (1), in which a male part fits. The intervening annular gap of the socket coupling is sealed by a joint ring. A union nut (7) detachably secures the parts together. The union nut has a rear shoulder (6a) engaging behind the male half, and screwing onto a parallel or tapering external thread on the socket. Seal rings (9,10) are provided for annular grooves (8,11) between the nut and the male part on one side of the screwed joint and the male part and the socket on the other side of the screwed joint. One groove is in the peripheral surface of the shoulder or the opposite annular surface of the union nut. The other groove is in the peripheral surface of a rear end section (1a) behind the screw thread of the socket part or the opposite annular surface of the socket.
