摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To decrease the number of abort cells by setting the upper limit number of cells that can be transferred in a 2nd period which is equal to an integer multiple of a lst period and long enough and also setting the average number of cells in the lst period and then transferring the cells in the upper limit number in a traffic concentrated state. CONSTITUTION:When the input cells INCEL (CEL 21, 22, 23 and 24) are inputted to a buffer memory circuit 1, these cells are immediately transferred as the output cells OTCEL. Then a read pulse RDA corresponding to the cell CEL 23 is supplied to a 2nd excessive cell processing circuit 5. Thus it is detected that the number of cells equal to the upper limit number 3 of cells that can be transferred in a period corresponding to a cycle T1 of a comparator 52 which receives the input of the count value CNT2 are already read out of the circuit 1. Then a clear signal CLR is supplied to the circuit 1. The circuit 1 is initialized in response to the signal CLR and therefore the CEL 24, i.e., the last one of a series of input cells is aborted. Thus the cells are aborted in the cycle T1 based on the number 3 per period corresponding to the cycle T1.</p>
