<p>A steel with excellent machinability containing 0.05 - 0.6 wt.% of C, 0.002 - 0.2 wt.% of S, 0.04 - 1.0 wt.% of Ti, not more than 0.008 wt.% of N, 0 - 0.1 wt.% of Nd, 0 - 0.5 wt.% of Se, 0 - 0.05 wt.% of Te, 0 - 0.01 wt.% of Ca, 0 - 0.5 wt.% of Pb and 0 - 0.4 wt.% of Bi. The maximum diameter of titanium carbide/sulfide in this steel is not larger than 10 νm and its content is not less than 0.05 % in terms of cleanness. The steel is a suitable material for structural components of various machines such as automobiles and other transportation machines, industrial machines, building machines, etc., for instance, crankshafts, connecting rods, gears, etc. which are subjected to machining.</p> |
