In order to increase the focusing of a direction finder device which has at least two identical transducers or groups of transducers (WL, WR), on the one hand a cumulative signal (b), and on the other hand a differential signal (c) are formed from the transducer output signals (a). The amount of the differential signal is then subtracted from that of the cumulative signal.
