Motorcycle front wheel guide with telescoping forks and slide tubes

An additional slide- or roller bearing rigidly joined via forked bridge (10) to the slide tubes (9) forms, in conjunction with a frame-fixed bearing (4) for the handlebars, the first steering axis (7) for the front wheel, and a rod (13) rotating in the bearing is carried at the far end on the machine frame (2). This rod rotates round the ring axis (7) and is guided on the frame at its far end parallel to the axis (7). A slide tube (14) fixed to the bearing adjusts axially and rotatably in a stand tube (14) fitted into the steering axis (7) and held fast at the upper fork cross. In steering movements, the rod (13) remains in position as the two forked bridges guide the slide and stand tubes round the axis (7).
