摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material having a high brightness and a recording sensitivity largely enhanced without adversely affecting various properties required for recording, by using a heat-fusible substance having a specified chemical structure. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording material comprises a sheet form support and a thermal color forming layer provided on at least one side of the support and containing a colorless or light-colored dye precursor and a color developer for developing a color by reacting with the precursor when being heated. The color forming layer further contains a sensitizer comprising at least one diether compound of formula (I). With the compound used as the sensitizer in the color forming layer, an extremely high recording sensitivity can be obtained without lowering brightness as compared with the case of using a higher fatty acid amide, such as stearic acid amide and palmitic acid amide, which has been practically used as a sensitizer, and without bringing about blushing which, if occurring, would lower the quality of developed color images on an economic basis.
