Magnetic field sensor with parallel magnetoresistive strips

The magnetic field sensor has parallel magnetoresistive strips (1) which are each divided into two or more regions (2) in a line. Remagnetising conductors (3), which extend perpendicular to the line of the magnetoresistive strips, run under or over the strips. The conductors comprise electrically highly conductive thin layer strips (4). The highly conductive thin layer strips are formed such that the current per unit width under or over the ends (5) of the regions is substantially greater than over or under the middle part (6) of the regions.
