To avoid the danger of mold breakage due to mold collision based on an input error of bending data without requiring any specific additional equipment for pressure detection, a mold interference check mode is provided in which a pressurizing force of a ram for supporting a driving mold is set to such a value that does not cause trouble when the driving mold and a stationary mold interfere with each other and the ram is driven. There is further provided a mold interference judgement process in which, when the driving mold and the stationary mold are judged as interfering with each other, driving of the ram is stopped, and when the driving mold and the stationary mold are not judged as interfering, the mold interference check process is cancelled and the system proceeds to the ordinary bending process.
