A paper pallet (100) is formed from a planar desk (104), spacer members (106), and a wraping paper sheet material (114), by a method which includes: a) conveying a first precut honeycomb sheet (160'') to a cutting location (222) having cutting means (244); b) cutting the first precut honeycomb sheet (106'') to produce spacer members (106) of a predetermined size; c) conveying the sheet member (106) to a reception location (250); d) arranging the spacer member(106) in a predetermined arrangement; e) conveying a second precut honeycomb sheet (104) to a first gluing location (262); f) applying an adhesive to an upward-facing surface (127); g) placing the arranged spacer members (106) on the upward-facing surface of the second honeycomb sheet (104) to form a pallet interior (102); h) conveying the pallet interior (102) to a second gluing location (276); i) applying an adhesive to the surfaces of the spacer members (106); and j) conveying the wrapping sheet (114) to the second gluing location (276) and placing the wrapping sheet (114) onto the pallet interior (102) and in contact with the upward-facing surfaces of the spacer members (106).
