Fluid-actuated working cylinder forms linear drive unit

The fluid-actuated working cylinder (22) forms the drive section (18) of a linear drive. It includes a cylinder housing (21) with a cylinder tube (23) fixed to the rear wall (7) of the drive housing (1). The piston rod (27) of the axially displaceable piston projects through the front wall (6). The output section of the linear drive comprises a tube which is coaxial with the cylinder housing and can be axially displaced over at least part of its length externally. It projects beyond the front of the cylinder housing to an extent dependent on its axial position. The projecting section of the piston rod extends into the internal space (34) of the output section in front of the cylinder housing and is attached to the output section for transmission of drive force.
