Operating method for motor vehicle with hydrostatic propulsion

The vehicle has a translatory/rotary consumer, charged by a hydraulic pump, which is driven and adjusted by a drive motor (1). In operational conditions, in which hydraulic energy is reduced, the pump (3) is set to min. volume, and the engine RPM is lowered to lowest idling RPM. Until a pressure limit is reached, the medium supplied by the consumer (6,7) is fed to an accumulator (18). When the pressure limit has been exceeded, further energy reduction is carried out via at least one pressure limitation valve (8,9), located in the hydraulic circuit.
