Moulded shoulder section e.g for forming tubes from a planar film

A moulded shoulder section consists of a collar and mantle and is used for forming a planar film into a tube. The mantle (4) has a carbon fibre mat (6) on its outer surface (5). A glass fibre / kevlar mat (8), glass fibre mat (9) and kevlar mat (10) are connected to the inner surface of the mantle. The mats are connected using a hardenable resin (11). Use - The arrangement is used in the prodn. of tubes. Advantage - The shoulder unit is stable and simple in construction.
