The disclosed active pressure gage for a flowmeter consists of a tubular core with a diffuser segment positioned upstream and running into the maximum cross-sectional area (6) and then into the conveyer tube (8). The inner wall (19) of the diffuser segment (4) contains grooves (20) with a particular configuration which allows the velocity contour in the flow to be changed in any direction desired.
