A three-wheeled vehicle has a steering mechanism in which a direction control element such as a ground-engaging, motor-driven wheel (8, Fig 1), or rotating sphere 110 held captive in a cage (112, Fig 5), is steered in response to the rotation of a driver support member such as a seat 132. The sphere 110 is driven by a motor-driven roller 114 which is in frictional contact with the sphere 110, with the roller 114 being carried on a rotatable vertical shaft 118 linked to the seat 132, so that movement of the seat 132 provides steering of the vehicle. The vehicle is suitable for sport and recreation, for transporting the elderly or inform, or for load carrying in confined spaces, and it may have a towing socket 113 to enable it to be towed between locations. |
