A circuit-component transferring apparatus including a sucker (766) which sucks a circuit component (842); a sucker moving device (762) which supports the sucker such that the sucker is movable upward and downward and which moves the sucker in a direction intersecting the direction of upward and downward movements of the sucker; an elevating and lowering device (880) which includes a drive member (892) and moves the sucker upward and downward by elevating and lowering the drive member; a pressure switching valve (860) which is supported by the sucker moving device and which includes a movable switch member (874); and a valve control device (882) which is actuated by the elevating and lowering device and which is selectively placed in one of a component sucking control state in which, when the elevating and lowering device moves the sucker downward by lowering the drive member, the valve control device moves the switch member to a negative-pressure supplying position at which the switch valve permits a negative pressure to be supplied to the sucker and a component releasing control state in which, when the elevating and lowering device moves the sucker downward by lowering the drive member, the valve control device moves the switch member to a negative-pressure removing position at which the switch valve permits a pressure not lower than an atmospheric pressure to be supplied to the sucker. <IMAGE>
