An information presenting system is constituted of a picture generating terminal (2) connected to a contents provider (1) through a wide-area network WN, an emergency information inputting terminal (3) for inputting information generated in an emergent state, an external information inputting section (4) for inputting, for example, media information from a CATV network, a change-over switch (5) which outputs either the inputted media information or the output of the terminal (2) as necessary, a plurality of receiving boxes (6) which receive the output information from the switch (5), and display devices (7) which display the output information of the boxes (6). The contents and their presenting schedule are independent of each other and are distributed by using a portable recording medium MEM or through the network WN. Therefore, an information presenting system presents exact information meeting the demands and the distributing cost of the contents is low. |
