An appliance-controlling apparatus 1 includes, in a memory 12, a control program which contains a descriptive format setting program 12c, and a converting/writing program 12d. The operator uses the keyboard 3, and a mouse, interactively with display on CRT 2 to set a desired descriptive format of a descriptive file 133 in an auxiliary storage unit 13. The descriptive file has a database format which describes data written into the appliance 4, and the descriptive format of the descriptive file is stored in a setting data file 134. The data acquired from the appliance are stored in a storage file (131 Figure 1) of which the format is set by use of a storage format setting unit. |
