As water/liquid is drawn off tank 5 the float/arm 3 will fall, opening the valve 6 partially. Water/liquid is discharged into reservoir 1 (FIG 2). By the time reservoir 1 is filled to the top of syphon tube 2 the weight of water/liquid causes float/arm 3 to fall further opening valve 6 fully (FIG 3). Water/liquid fills reservoir 1 to the brim and cascades over the top, a lesser quantity syphons down tube 2 (FIG 4). Float 4 now less buoyant will rise as tank 5 fills until valve 6 partially closes (FIG 5). When this happens discharge from syphon tube 2 is greater than discharge of feed nozzle 7 (FIG 5), As reservoir 1 empties float 4 becomes more buoyant and rises shutting off valve 6 in a few seconds (FIG 6). Tank 5 will now contain more water/liquid than it would, had reservoir 1 not been fitted. This excess water/liquid can be drawn off before the valve 6 reopens. Tank 5 can be fitted to standard ballcocks by screws bolts, glue or moulding to arm 3. |
