PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool which can stably cut a work for a long time. SOLUTION: This cutting tool has a throwaway chip 10 whose flat plane is circular, a holder 20 having a chip seat 21 for holding the throwaway chip 10 and cylindrical shell 22, and a tool body provided with a mounting depression 31 for rotatably holding the shell of the holder 20. The mounting depression 31 is tapered toward the bottom thereof and holding means 40 for rotatably holding the shell of the holder 20 in the inner peripheral surface side of the mounting depression in the state whore in can be moved in the direction of the depth of the depression 31 is interposed between the shell of the holder 20 and the inner circumferential surface of the mounting depression 31 to make a gap between the bottom of the shell of the holder 20 and the bottom of the mounting depression 31 and the holder 20 is urged by urging means 50 to the bottom side of the mounting depression 31.
