PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the piston area of an actuator so as to enhance the freedom of a pipe line by providing a friction clutch for reducing the yaw-moment of a vehicle body, a speed change mechanism and the actuator. SOLUTION: A differential gear device comprises a differential mechanism 27 for distributing a drive force transmitted from an engine to a differential gear casing 5, to the wheel side through output members 31, 33, friction clutches 45 for coupling the differential gear casing 5 with the output members 31, 33 through the speed change mechanism 47, and actuators 69 for fastening the friction clutches 45. The friction clutches 45, the speed change mechanism 47 and the actuators 69 are arranged in the mentioned order from the axially inside to the outside.
