<p>Sheet of foamed organic material pref. contg. natural or synthetic rubber, polyvinyl chloride or polyurethane is strongly bonded with a textile floor covering by lamination-coating. Lamination coating pref. takes place in one step with pile (nap) anchoring of tufted carpet, esp. using same thermoplastic lining material, or together with needled flet reinforcement. Coating may be applied on sheet and/or reverse of floor covering. Foamed layer may be supported on a fabric or web which is then placed between carpet and foam. Process does not require high temps. which might damage pile or substrate carpet fibres of synthetic material, e.g., polypropylene.</p> |
