PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mold capable of molding a resin for forming an optical disk with high transfer accuracy at the time of the production of an optical disk having high memory density. SOLUTION: A mold is formed from fine ultra-hard particles inclusive of its surface layer because formed of a sintered material of hard particles of 1μm or less containing no bonding phase and has no bonding phase relatively easy to abrade. Therefore, a mirror surface is easily formed and the surface roughening caused by the partial abrasion of the mold is not generated in spite of long-term use and high transfer accuracy carp be kept long. As hard particles to be used, various particles of carbide, nitride and oxide can be used but, from an aspect of moldability and sintering properties (easiness to obtain a dense sintered material), a sintered material wherein 20wt.% or less of WC is replaced with other carbide is suitable from an aspect of mirror surface processability. |
