PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use warming-up time to make copying work efficient and to reduce operators' unpleasantness due to waiting time of the warming-up, when a copying machine is used in a power-saving made. SOLUTION: When a copying machine is used in a power-saving mode, setting documents onto a document feeding tray of an automatic document feeder causes a heater of a fixing roller to be powered and warming-up to start (Step S3). On the other hand, a document reading time Tr is calculated from the amount of documents which is detected by a document amount detecting sensor (Step S5), a warming-up time Twu is calculated from the temperature of the fixing roller (Step S7), and a timing Ts (=Twu-Tr) for starting document reading is calculated from the both temperatures (Step 88). Reading of the document is started after Ts from beginning of the warming-up (Step S11) and printing is started just after the warming-up (Step S13). |
