PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential gear provided with a differential lock mechanism of structure facilitating work. SOLUTION: In a bevel gear type differential gear provided with a differential case 1, recessed groove 3 in an internal periphery of the differential case 1, pinion shaft 5 locked to the recessed groove 3, pinion gear 7 on the pinion shaft 5, pair of output side gears 11, 13 meshed with the pinion gear 7, and a differential lock mechanism 31, the differential lock mechanism 31 has a window part 25 inserted in an end wall of the differential case 1 also communicating with each recessed groove 3, protruded part and an extension part 35b movable respectively in an axial direction in the recessed groove 3 of the differential case 1 and in the window part 25, also provided with a clutch ring 35 provided between itself and the side gear 13 with a dog clutch 33, actuator 43 moving the clutch ring 35 to interrupt the dog clutch 33, and a return spring 41.
