PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary machine with a desired cutout function without making the structure complicated and increasing the size of the device by cutting a connection member when an abnormality occurs in the rotary machine and thereby disconnecting the output shaft and the rotor. SOLUTION: In normal occasions, three-phase power is applied to armature windings of a stator from an AC power supply and thereby torque is developed in a rotor 7 by magnetomotive force caused by the three-phase power. Then, rotating power is transmitted to an output shaft 3 through a bolt 11 and collar 9. When an abnormality occurs in the motor, on the other hand, an abnormality detecting sensor 18 detects an abnormality and then turns an external switch 17 ON to apply voltage to the motor from a power supply 15. Joule heat of the current which is caused to flow by the application of voltage fires and explodes a priming material 19. The explosion of the priming material 19 cuts the bolt 11 and thereby the rotor 7 and the output shaft 3 come to a disconnected state. |
