PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of error or omission in compressing processing by outputting the normal result processed in advance until a switched signal can be provided as the normal result in the case of switching plural asynchronous signals. SOLUTION: A camera control unit(CCU) 2 inputs a video signal V1 from another system 29 and an on-air video signal V2 or the like as a signal compressed for the unit of frame through a system such as MPEG. A cameraman 26 sends to the CCU 2 a control signal K to make switching for monitoring, selects either one of video signals V1 and V2 and outputs it to a VF 22 as a return video signal M. In this case, the CCU 2 is provided with a buffer memory and always stores the fields of video signals V1 and V2, just being displayed on the VF 22 at present. When the control signal K for switching is inputted, the video signals V1 and V2 in the preceding field of the buffer memory are outputted temporarily to the VF 22 as the return video signal M. |
