PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: Toprovide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery excellent not only in charge/discharge efficiency and cycle characteristic but also in load characteristic and safety. SOLUTION: A mixture of carbon fibers having the diameter of 1-5μm and the aspect ratio of 5-10 and granular carbon having the average diameter of 5-40μm is mainly used for the carbon constituting a negative electrode, and its specific surface area is set to 40m<2> /g at most. Graphitized vapor phase epitaxy carbon fibers are preferably used for the carbon fibers, and 80% or above of the carbon preferably has d002 of 0.3354-0.3375nm and Lc of 40nm at most. |
