摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect remaining gas composition without necessitating a specified sensor by injecting a setting fuel rate from only an injector of a specified cylinder when a setting condition is satisfied in an engine operating condition, and judging the presence or absence of the remaining gas composition in a fuel line on the basis of output change of an air-fuel ratio sensor. SOLUTION: In a remaining gas detecting routine carried out per prescribed time in an ECU 50, it is inspected whether a fuel cut condition is set up or not. In the case of 'YES', a fuel injection pulse signal having a setting width is outputted to an injector 12 of a #1 cylinder after lapse of the prescribed time, and then fuel having a setting rate is injected toward only the #1 cylinder. After that, when the prescribed time is lapsed, output voltage VO2 of an O2 sensor 33 is sampled for a prescribed period, and is compared with a slice level SL which is set beforehand. At the time of VO2>SL, absence of remaining gas in a delivery pipe 22 is judged. At the time of VO2<=SL, presence of remaining gas is judged, a check lamp is turned on, and warning is provided to a driver.
