摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the electrolysis in liquid crystal by providing an electrode having roughly the same potential as that of a common electrode in such a way that it covers one part of a driving circuit area to mitigate the electric field between a driving circuit part and the common electrode opposed to the part. SOLUTION: An insulating film 28 is formed at the liquid crystal side of the vertical scanning circuit 12 and the horizontal circuit of a TFT substrate side and a shielding electrode 40 is formed on the insulating film 28 in such a way that it covers the vertical scanning circuit 12 and the horizontal scanning circuit. This shielding electrode 40 can be constituted with a transparent electrode by being provided concurrently with a process forming a pixel electrode 16. Moreover, it may be formed with an opague matal and in this case, there is the same effect as that at the time when a light shielding film is provided at a position relatively near driving circuits and it is possible to prevent a light entering into driving circuits due to an irregular or the like and a photoelectric current to be generated in the driving circuits due to unwanted lights can be prevented. The shielding electrode 40 is made to be the same potential as that of the common electrode 21 by making it exists along the circuits till a contact part and making it conduct the photoelectric current.</p>
