<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized vehicle illumination device using a high voltage discharge lamp by contriving the heat treating measure for a turn-on device for the high voltage discharge lamp. SOLUTION: In a vehicle illumination device composed of a high voltage discharge lamp 2, a turn-on device 31 for this lamp 2, and a lamp casing 1 for accommodating the lamp 2 and the turn-on device 31, a voltage regulating circuit as the turn-on device 31 incorporated in an exclusive casing composed of a resin casing part 31A and a metal casing part 32A which are fitted with each other. The resin casing part 31A is located at a position where it blocks radiation heat from the lamp 2 so as to protect the turn-on device from the radiation heat.</p> |
