PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a satisfactory contact state between a cleaning blade and a photoreceptor surface and keep the cleaning performance over a long period by forming a strip apparent image pattern on this side of an ADC patch, and cleaning the strip apparent image pattern prior to the cleaning of the ADC patch. SOLUTION: When a latent image for forming an ACD patch 17, a latent image pattern extended in the lateral direction of a photoreceptor is formed on this side thereof followed by toner development by a developing equipment to form a strip apparent image pattern 23. The strip apparent image pattern 23 is passed through a cleaning blade prior to the cleaning operation of the ADC patch 17. Thus, since the quantity of non-transferred toner getting into the cleaner part is laid substantially in the same condition in the photoreceptor lateral direction, cleaning of the following ADC patch 17 image can be stably performed without suddenly adding a partial load to the cleaner. Thus, the cleaning performance can be kept for a long period without adding a local cleaning stress to the cleaning member. |
