PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically correct the fluctuation of the density of an image between the time of starting to use an image forming device and its operation period by detecting the temp. of a fixing unit, just after power is supplied or an energy saving mode is cleared and correcting gradation, when the detected temp. is of a fixed temp. or below. SOLUTION: When the power is turned on or the energy saving mode is released, a control part CPU checks that the fixing temp. of the fixing unit 19 is of the fixed temp. or below, that is, makes a decision by the fact that the temp. of the part of a fixing roller 19a detected by a temperature sensor SH provided in contact with or near the fixing roller 19a of the fixing unit 19 is <=50 deg.C or not. When the detected temp. is not <=50 deg.C, it is judged that a downtime after the pervious operation is not so long, so that the image is formed with the present gradation reference value, without correcting the gradation. When the detected temp. is <=50 deg.C, it is judged that the downtime after the previous operation is so long, so that a gradation correcting process is executed and the image is formed with a gradation correction value decided in this process. |
