PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce resource capacity by transferring PVC(permanent virtual circuit) information only in backup in a frame relay backup system and a backup method for relieving failure. SOLUTION: When the failure occurs between a terminal (a) and the switchboard A in an ordinary communication route with the switchboards A, B between the terminals (a) and (b) in a frame relay network in which plural relay switchboards 1 are included and to perform communication by the PVC, PVC information held in the terminal (a) or the one held in the switchboard A or the one held by PVC information database in the network is transmitted to the switchboard C for backup, the PVC information is connected between the terminal (a) and the switchboard B by backup with a public network 5 and the switchboard C and the communication between the terminals (a) and (b) is continued by switching the PVC in the switchboard B. |
