PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a producing method of photographic sensitive planar emul sion particles having [100] crystal habit and rich in chloride. SOLUTION: This producing method of a photographic silver halide emulsion includes precipitation in one or more precipitation processes in a reaction container and desalting by aggregation, cleaning or ultrafiltration. The emulsion contains a gelatin as a binder and [100] planar silver halide particles containing at least 50mol% chlorides. At least 40% in number of the whole particles are planar particles above described, and the planer particles have at least 2 average aspect ratio, max. 0.5μm average thickness and >=0.3μm average equivalent diameter for circular grains. The gelatin binder present in the reaction container in the precipitation processes does not substantially contain calcium ion but is oxidized to contain max. 4000ppm methionine.
