According to the present invention, the linear transport system is provided with ropes (7) comprising cables (7a) spaced apart from each other, or bands (7b) tensioned with a N1 force, which is determined by the following relationship: 0.5 lower than or equal to N1/Q, lower than or equal to 104, wherein N2 is the rope tension strength; Q is the vehicle weight. The rope (7) is mounted over alternatively rigid and movable supports (8, 9), the rail (2) head (3) is joined to the rope (7) through a variable height spacer, the height of said spacer increasing towards the center between said supports (8, 9).
