A pharmaceutical composition comprising, as an active ingredient, a lens antigen or a microorganism capable of expressing said lens antigen, in particular, an inhibitor of an increase of anti-lens protein antibodies, among others, an agent for microorganism is administered intraintestinally. [Effect] The above-said preparations show significant inhibitory effects on the increase of an anti-lens protein antibody titer in sera. Therefore, they are useful in that they can be utilized as agents for the therapy, prophylaxis or retardation of onset of cataract.
